System requirements
- Windows 10 64-bit: Minimum required is Home or Pro 22H2 (build 19045) or higher, or Enterprise or Education 22H2 (build 19045) or higher.
- Windows 11 64-bit: Home or Pro version 22H2 or higher, or Enterprise or Education version 22H2 or higher.
- Turn on the WSL 2 feature on Windows.
- WSL version 2.1.5 or later.
- The following hardware prerequisites are required to successfully run WSL 2 on Windows 10 or Windows 11:
- 64-bit processor with Second Level Address Translation (SLAT)
- 4GB system RAM
- Enable hardware virtualization in BIOS/UEFI.
Installation steps

Download Docker Desktop
- Visit Windows | Docker Docs
- Click on “Docker Desktop for Windows – x86_64” to download the installer.

Run the Installer
- Double-click the Docker Desktop Installer.exe file to run the installer. By default, Docker Desktop is installed at C:\Program Files\Docker\Docker.
- A dialog box will pop up, tick all the checkboxes and click “OK” to continue the installation
- Follow the instructions on the installation wizard to authorize the installer and proceed with the installation.
- When the installation is successful, select Close to complete the installation process.
Run Docker Desktop
- Click the Start menu button and type “docker” in the search bar at the top.

From the search results, click Docker Desktop to launch the application.
- Wait until the starting process is fully completed.

Click Restart to update WSL (Optional if needed)

Once Docker Desktop has finished starting, you can close the Docker Desktop window. (Docker will continue to run in the background.)
